Great teaching shared by Mr Satish

Great teaching shared by Mr Satish

Blessed are those who have urge to seek the meaning of life and try to percieve life as it originally is. But those who seek results very fast often go slow. On this path patience is very important.

But if one wants understanding then understanding the Patanjali Yoga Sutras will help a lot.

Patanjali was an Indian Saint. He clearly mentioned what will be gained by following each & every of his prescription.

So for following Patanjali observe following:

1. Slow down & cool down
2. You will be a changed person
3. Follow Yamaha & Niyama  Your samadhi/meditation  is proportional to your following Yamaha & Niyama

Yamaha & Niyama

Yamas and its complement, Niyamas, represent a series of ‘right living’ or ethical rules.

A. Yamas – the five social ethics

1. Ahimsa – Non-violence. Not to hurt anyone by intentions, thoughts, speech & action. Stop blaming self & others. You will love & be loved. Patience & tolerance will help in being non violent. Rather if you accept diversity as cosmic beauty your tolerance will increase. So accept the situations and persons as they are.

When you follow Ahimsa enemity will decrease.

2. Satyam/ The Truth–That which does not change is Satya/ Truth. That which Exists is Satya/ truth. That which is permanent is the Truth. Following Truth  means getting established  in the eternal/ permanent. Truthfulness is remaining established in the  Truth.

If you are established in the Truth your actions will bear fruits.

3.Asteya– Non-stealing. If you wish to possess what others have you become weak. Asteya means to abstain from seeking what others have. However, if you get inspired by others qualities then it is not Asteya.

If you follow Asteya abundance follows.

4. Brahmacharya –Big mind.  Divine conduct: Have the big mind to treat whole World as one family but be celibate when single, faithful & committed to spouse and family when married. When married be in moderation. When one can see the world above five senses it is called Brahmacharya.

The result of Brahmacharya is that  energy increases.

5. Aparigraha – Not holding on to the praises & blames given by others.  Accumulating things unnecessarily and not desiring things that belong to others.

The result: knowledge of previous births & ages.

B. Niyamas – the five personal rules.

1. Shaucha – Cleanliness/ purity of the body and mind. With Shaucha focus comes. Soumnasaya i.e. pleasant cheerful nature dawns. Internal purification. Atam darshan yogyata develops. Means Internal senses become more focused.

2. Santosha – Contentment, remaining happy with whatever one has. Man Laaga Mera yaar faqiri mein.

It gives the ultimate joy.

3. Tapas – Austerity and self-discipline through difficult times. Body & senses (Kayaindriya) get purified.  Ashudi Kshaya.

4. Swadhyaya – Study of the Self.

It brings communion to Ishat Devta.

5. Ishwara Pranidhana – Surrendering to God, honouring the Divine.
